IT WILL START LIKE ANY OTHER DAY.
The same day as John Cale (Channing Tatum) is visiting the White House with his daughter, hoping to land a job with the Secret Service, the Executive Mansion is overtaken by terrorists. The same year we saw Olympus Has Fallen there was another action movie depicting the White House under attack… and this one is better. Credibility is zero, obviously, but Roland Emmerich handles his Die Hard scenario well and takes creative advantage of White House locations. The action scenes are so outlandish one can’t help but laugh, but they’re also inventive and explosive; goes on a bit too long, but the cast is clearly having fun.
