My King

Mon_roi_posterAttorney “Tony” Jézéquel (Emmanuelle Bercot) meets and falls in love with a charming entrepreneur (Vincent Cassel), but after the honeymoon phase their lives together are anything but stable. Director Maïwenn depicts a romantic relationship from the beginning, through its tumultuous journey where secrets are revealed, crises are handled and a child enters the picture, to its inevitable end. The story is framed by Bercot recovering after a skiing accident, pondering her bittersweet love affair. Alternately intolerably noisy, dull and insightful, the film sure is a mixed bag; some will love it, others will hate it.
