London Has Fallen

THE WORLD’S LEADERS HAVE ASSEMBLED. SO HAVE THEIR ENEMIES.

londonhasfallenWhen world leaders, including U.S. President Benjamin Asher (Aaron Eckhart), gather in London for the funeral of the British prime minister, terrorists attack the city in full force. The directorā€™s first American film is a sequel to Olympus Has Fallen (2013) and itā€™s just as preposterous. As the president and his closest Secret Service agent (Butler) try to dodge terrorists in London, thereā€™s barely a moment that feels remotely plausible and the visual effects are very uneven. Still, itā€™s the same over-the-top attitude that made the original fun, and the two leads are engaging in a corny way.

2016-U.S. 99 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed byĀ Babak Najafi. Cast: Gerard Butler (Mike Banning), Aaron Eckhart (Benjamin Asher), Morgan Freeman (Allan Trumbull), Alon Moni Aboutboul, Angela Bassett, Robert Forsterā€¦ Melissa Leo, Jackie Earle Haley.

Trivia: Followed by Angel Has Fallen (2019).
