THERE ARE A MILLION REASONS NOT TO LIKE OREN LITTLE. JUST ASK EVERYONE.
After suddenly being saddled with a nine-year-old granddaughter he didn’t know he had, grumpy and selfish realtor Oren Little (Michael Douglas) grows closer to his neighbor (Diane Keaton). The intended target audience of older women deserve better movies than this romantic comedy – and so do fans of the two stars. They do what they can with their characters and are the only reason why anyone should see it. We’re supposed to get a few laughs and a little heartache out of it, but it’s a lazy script that fails to make us believe in this romance.
2014-U.S. 94 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by Rob Reiner. Cast: Michael Douglas (Oren Little), Diane Keaton (Leah), Sterling Jerins (Sarah), Annie Parisse, Rob Reiner, Albert Jones… Frankie Valli.
Trivia: Sissy Spacek was allegedly considered for the role of Leah.
