thefamilyFormer mob boss Giovanni Manzoni (Robert De Niro) and his family are part of an FBI witness protection program and try to make a new life for themselves in Normandy, France. A bit of an odd film for Luc Besson to do, an action comedy without any real laughs, but some excitement in the final showdown. Very much is familiar here, including the way it makes fun of the gangster genre. We never get close enough to the family we’re supposed to care about, but the film gets a boost from its cast, including the kids who take after their parents…
