Stockholm, 1982; two 13-year-old girls (Mira Barkhammar, Mira Grosin), who have remained loyal to punk rock even though everybody keeps saying it’s dead, form a bandā¦ but realize they need someone who can actually play an instrument. Adapting his wife’s graphic novel, Lukas Moodysson has made a pleasant companion piece to Show Me Love (1998) and Together (2000), one that views life from kids’ perspective and fully remains on their side. Drawing amusing parallels between punk rock and the girls’ rebellious mindset, the film is convincingly staged and has terrific performances by the three leads.
