When bored corporate tycoon Wesley Deeds (Tyler Perry), whose father’s legacy weighs heavily on him, meets a janitor (Thandiwe Newton) at a low point in her life, he becomes intrigued. A morality tale that teaches us to go for what we really want in life, and not walk to someone else’s drumbeat, and also to take responsibility for your life and every person that’s part of it. Passable enough entertainment, but Perry should know that drawing out predictable plot points does not make them seem more realistic or profound.
