The Smurfs

ADVENTURE DOESN’T GET ANY BIGGER.

smurfsThe blue little creatures known as Smurfs are sucked into a vortex along with their arch-enemy Gargamel (Hank Azaria) and they all end up in New York City. Director Raja Gosnell brought Scooby-Doo to life in a 2002 movie, so it comes as no surprise that he was also hired for this one, as computer-animated characters once again mingle with live actors in a loudly comical, family-friendly adventure in 3D. Reminiscent of the Alvin and the Chipmunks flicks, it’s too generic; Azaria is fun as Gargamel, but the Smurfs are an overbearing bunch.
