CSI: Miami

The first spin-off to the hugely successful CSI (2000-2015) took the same formula of explaining the forensic science behind violent crimes, but adopted a sunnier attitude that bordered on the cartoonish. Neither characters nor the actual cases seemed to have much to do with reality, the police station looked like a glassed-in shopping mall, every color was jacked up and David Caruso’s posturing became much-imitated. Still, he was fun to watch and the show was a major hit internationally; the cast changed over the years (sometimes surprisingly, as in the cases of the high-profiled Kim Delaney and Eddie Cibrian), but always remained an entertaining enough procedural. There was also more action than in the other two CSI shows.

2002-2012:U.S. Made for TV. 232 episodes. Color. Created byĀ Anthony E. Zuiker, Ann Donahue, Carol Mendelsohn. Cast: David Caruso (Horatio Caine), Emily Procter (Calleigh Duquesne), Adam Rodriguez (Eric Delko), Jonathan Togo (04-12), Eva La Rue (05-12), Rex Linn (03-12), Omar Miller (09-12), Khandi Alexander (02-08), Rory Cochrane (02-04), Eddie Cibrian (09-10), Kim Delaney (02).
