SOME FAMILIES ARE TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE.
In a suburban neighborhood, everyone is in awe of the Joneses whose lifestyle seems perfect… but nobody realizes that the “family” consists of four salesmen whose job it is to turn their neighbors into happy consumers. A clever title for this black comedy that doesn’t seem entirely preposterous in our militantly consumerist society. The satire works very well, but some of the relationships are not as convincing (or interesting). Still, very entertaining, with a good song score and fine performances; Demi Moore and David Duchovny (who brings his Californication charisma) are fun to watch.
