The Dictator

After falling victim to a scheme hatched by his uncle (Ben Kingsley), Admiral General Aladeen of Wadiya (Sacha Baron Cohen) lives incognito in New York City where he’s plotting his comeback. Made “in loving memory of Kim Jong-Il”, this third movie from the Larry Charles-Cohen team is a straight fish-out-of-water story without any of the real-life pranks from Borat or BrĆ¼no. Slightly reminiscent of Coming to America (1988), although much cruder. A few hits, many missesā€¦ and a one-hundred per cent committed lead performance.

2012-U.S. 83 min. Color. Widescreen.Ā Directed byĀ Larry Charles.Ā Cast:Ā Sacha Baron Cohen (Admiral General Aladeen),Ā Anna Faris (Zoey), Ben Kingsley (Tamir), Jason Mantzoukas, Fred Armisen, Aasif Mandvi. Cameos: Megan Fox, John C. Reilly, Edward Norton.
