Sound of Noise

When a band of musical terrorists strike all over a city, it is up to a tone-deaf cop (Bengt Nilsson) to take them down. The filmmakers expanded the story of their short subject Music for One Apartment and Six Drummers (2001) for this highly original feature film about a group of percussionists led by an uncompromising musician. It has certainly got rhythm in the design of the musical “attacks”, and Nilsson is excellent as the cop who desires silence above all. However, the characters and their motives remain a little hard to grasp, which is a problem even in a complete fantasy like this.

2010-Sweden-France. 102 min. Color. Widescreen. Written and directed by Ola Simonsson, Johannes Stjärne Nilsson. Cast: Bengt Nilsson (Amadeus Warnebring), Sanna Persson Halapi (Sanna Persson), Magnus Börjeson (Magnus), Marcus Haraldson Boij, Johannes Björk… Peter Schildt, Ralph Carlsson, Anders Jansson, Björn Granath.
