Shrink

THE DOCTOR IS OUT.

Renowned Beverly Hills psychotherapist Henry Carter (Kevin Spacey) is having a breakdown, fueled by his drug addiction… but that doesn’t stop him from seeing patients. An independent production made with all the best intentions, but sometimes that’s not enough. The movie introduces us to several people in L.A., many of them connected to the entertainment industry… and never seizes to wallow in misery. Few glimpses of insight, and some of the characters are too cardboard. Still, Spacey is excellent as the grieving shrink.

2009-U.S. 105 min. Color. Directed by Jonas Pate. Cast: Kevin Spacey (Henry Carter), Mark Webber (Jeremy), Keke Palmer (Jemma), Saffron Burrows, Jack Huston, Pell James… Jesse Plemons, Robert Loggia, Gore Vidal. Cameos: Robin Williams, Griffin Dunne.

Trivia: Co-produced by Spacey.
