CHANGING HIS ATTITUDE WILL TAKE A MIRACLE.
Henry Poole (Luke Wilson), who believes that he is dying, buys a house in Los Angeles where he intends to spend his last days, but what looks like a miracle becomes an annoying distraction… Yes, Henry has a fatal illness. Yes, he intends to drink himself to death. Yes, he has a gorgeous neighbor who happens to be a single mother with a cute kid. And yes, the miracle just might end up saving his life. There isn’t much about this religious film that is as moving as intended, but Adriana Barraza’s performance is heart-warming in spite of the predictability.
2008-U.S. 99 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by Mark Pellington. Cast: Luke Wilson (Henry Poole), Radha Mitchell (Dawn Stupek), Adriana Barraza (Esperanza Martinez), Cheryl Hines, George Lopez, Richard Benjamin.
