ONE ORDINARY COUPLE. ONE LITTLE WHITE LIE.
New Jersey suburbanites Phil and Claire Foster (Steve Carell, Tina Fey) steal another couple’s reservations in a busy Manhattan restaurant ā and are targeted by two violent men who work for a Mob boss. Carell and Fey, both stars of successful sitcoms, join forces for this high-concept movie and bring their antics along. Many aspects of their acting are predictable, but they turn out to complement each other quite well; one actually believes in them as a loving couple and they provide many laughs along the way. As for the script, suffice it to say that the film hadn’t worked as well without this cast.Ā
