When they hit financial straits, best friends Zack and Miri (Seth Rogen, Elizabeth Banks) decide to shoot a porn movie on the cheap, but mistakenly think that won’t change their relationship. Director Kevin Smith went through a tedious, challenging process of trying to sell a movie with that title, but anyone who actually sees it will find a surprisingly sweet and funny comedy with hugely likable performances from the two stars. Not that there aren’t any raunchy ingredients (there are, rest assured), but Smith knows how to make it work without going too far… and he has a great ear for vulgar, street-smart dialogue.
