One Missed Call

WHAT WILL IT SOUND LIKE WHEN YOU DIE?

Beth Raymond (Shannon Sossamon) witnesses Leann (Azura Skye) and her boyfriend get killed by a supernatural force on two separate occasions; she learns that both of them had previously received voice mails from the time of their death. Another remake of an Asian horror movie, this time the Japanese Chakushin ari (2003); expect scary kids and technical gizmos that carry demons and ghosts. However, don’t expect to care much for the characters or what they learn about those missed calls.

2008-U.S.-Japan-Germany. 87 min. Color. Directed by Eric Valette. Cast: Shannyn Sossamon (Beth Raymond), Edward Burns (Jack Andrews), Azura Skye (Leann Cole), Ana Claudia Talancón, Ray Wise, Johnny Lewis… Margaret Cho.

Trivia: Guillermo del Toro was allegedly considered for directing duties.
