COME FROZEN HELL OR HIGH ADVENTURE… THEIR MISSION: STOP THE NAZIS FROM DEVELOPING THE ATOM BOMB!
In Nazi-occupied Norway, resistance fighter Knut Straud (Richard Harris) enlists the help of a physicist (Kirk Douglas) who will be useful in the attempt to destroy a heavy water production plant. The true story of how the German nuclear energy project was thwarted in Norway gets the Hollywood treatment Guns of Navarone-style, complete with two big stars whose characters sometimes are at odds with each other. Majestic views of northern Norway is a major bonus, along with a decent score by Malcolm Arnold; a few lulls and a less than remarkable script nevertheless dent the impact.Ā
