JUST ANOTHER FAMILY MAN MAKING A LIVING.Ā
When he sees a pregnant woman chased by an armed man, Smith (Clive Owen) steps up and even delivers her baby while killing bad guys; the villainous Hertz (Paul Giamatti) won’t let him get away with that. This spoof of violent, improbable action movies wants to be oh-so-clever but stumbles. Every ingredient is blown out of proportions in absurd ways (Owen even uses carrots to kill bad guys) but there aren’t any real jokes, which makes all the bloodcurdling violence and extreme tastelessness hard to take. Owen is fun, but the movie gets tiresome.
