EDDIE MURPHY IN EDDIE MURPHY IN MEET DAVE.
Gina Morrison (Elizabeth Banks) accidentally hits Dave (Eddie Murphy) with her car; surprisingly enough he’s OK, but that’s because he’s actually a man-size vessel operated by a crew of tiny aliens. The director and the star of Norbit (2007) try to compensate for that debacle with this comedy that is entirely targeted at kids and families. Murphy does a decent enough job as the mechanical Dave whose crew has no idea how to make him behave like a normal human, but the film is totally unremarkable. Not even the revolt inside Dave turns into a laugh riot.
