FEEL THE LOVE.
The Stone family is reunited for Christmas in Connecticut; son Everett (Dermot Mulroney) brings his new girlfriend (Sarah Jessica Parker) who becomes anything but a hit.Ā Director Thomas Bezuchaās second film is reminiscent of many other Christmas movies, but this drama-comedy manages to overcome its predictability and turn into a funny, genuine and quite moving experience. One reason is the portrayal of the characters and the family; theyāre a wonderful bunch, but Bezucha also makes it clear how slightly oppressive such a happy, tight-knit family can be to an outsider. The other reason is the cast, including Parker as an ice queen who turns out to be more than that.

Last word: “I feel like I was the least reverent member of the crew about the script. The cast was very protective of the script. (Laughs) It’s funny, it depends on who you talk to. I feel like it was really improvisational but Sarah Jessica goes on and on about how not a comma, or a word changed in the script. I feel like if you’re lucky enough to hit it rich with a cast like that, and you’re not coming to play on the set, you’re doing something wrong.” (Bezucha, MovieWeb)
