Shark Tale

BEHIND EVERY LITTLE FISH IS A GREAT WHITE LIE.

sharktaleA wrasse called Oscar becomes mistakenly known for having killed a shark; as his popularity rises, he befriends another shark, Lenny, whose father won’t let him be a vegetarian. One of the Shrek directors is behind this comedy; expect a lot of pop cultural references (not least to Jaws and The Godfather) and jokes aimed at young and old alike. A popular concept, but the story is simple and the film has nothing out of the ordinary… except a fun cast. Jack Black is perfect as the friendly Lenny and cineastes will get a kick out of Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese.

2004-U.S. Animated. 90 min. Color. Directed by Vicky Jenson, Bibo Bergeron, Rob Letterman. Voices of Will Smith (Oscar), Robert De Niro (Don Lino), Renée Zellweger (Angie), Jack Black (Lenny), Angelina Jolie, Martin Scorsese… Peter Falk, Michael Imperioli, Ziggy Marley, Katie Couric, Christina Aguilera, Missy Elliott.

Trivia: Christopher Walken was allegedly considered for a part.
