THE PERFECT WORLD MEETS THE PERFECT ASSASSIN.
400 years from now, the survivors of mankind have gathered in a huge city-state; the authoritarian regime is fought by rebels. Charlize Theron is about as much fun here as Jennifer Garner in the same year’s Elektra – not much at all. One wonders if heroines in action movies are required to be excessively cold and humorless, or boys watching them can never take them seriously? The film is an adaptation of a 1991-1995 animated MTV series; what we’re getting is a traditional dystopia with no original ideas, even if stabs at that are made. Mostly silly and dull.
