Butch FBI agent Gracie Hart (Sandra Bullock) is tasked with posing as a glamorous candidate in a beauty contest in order to expose a terrorist who threatens to strike during the finale. We all understand that Bullock will have no problem turning herself into a beauty queen. But watching her and the filmmakers have fun inventing unattractive qualities for her is also entertaining; Michael Caine, Candice Bergen and William Shatner round out the cast nicely. However, they are all handed a script totally void of surprises, with only a few funny lines as the sole virtue.
