Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous

misscongeniality2As FBI agent Gracie Hart (Sandra Bullock) tries to find the kidnapped Miss USA, she is also saddled with a new partner (Regina King) who hates her guts. This sequel that no one asked for has the gall to run for almost two hours. Along the way, it offers a few smiles but hardly a coherent story. The two leads keep fighting and arguing, but aren’t much fun. William Shatner returns from the first film but is not given much to do, which is a shame; Michael Caine is obviously sorely missed.

2005-U.S. 115 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by John Pasquin. Cast: Sandra Bullock (Gracie Hart), Regina King (Sam Fuller), William Shatner (Stan Fields), Ernie Hudson, Enrique Murciano, Heather Burns… Treat Williams, Eileen Brennan, Stephen Tobolowsky, Octavia Spencer. Cameos: Dolly Parton, Regis Philbin.

Trivia: Co-produced by Bullock.
