WHAT IF YOU HAD A UNIVERSAL REMOTE… THAT CONTROLLED YOUR UNIVERSE?
Harried architect Michael Newman (Adam Sandler) struggles to satisfy the needs of both his family and boss; he comes across a magic remote control that gives him power over his life. A one-note joke becomes the backbone of a Capra-esque fantasy, and the results are so-so. Itās nice to see Sandler tone down his less-than-funny aggressive style and just try to be a person the audience can identify with, and like. All he needs now is a few good jokes and heāll be on his way. David Hasselhoff is OK as his boss but Christopher Walken doesn’t add much.Ā
