SIZE DOES MATTER.
As a result of French nuclear tests in the Pacific, a dinosaur mutates and turns into a huge killing machine that attacks New York. Well, turns out that size didn’t matter that much; this movie came with an impressive budget and marketing campaign, but the box office take was nonetheless disappointing. Director Roland Emmerich goes for a sprawling cast and emphasizes traditional, uninspired heroism. The visual effects are of a devastating nature, the monster looks good and there are exciting ingredients, but no genuine sense of wonder.
