THEY NEVER SAW IT COMING.
Charles Schine (Clive Owen) has a chance encounter with Lucinda Harris (Jennifer Aniston) on a Chicago train that leads to an affair, little realizing that a French psychopath (Vincent Cassel) will change their lives forever. Director Mikael Håfström’s international debut has a strong cast (Owen and Aniston are very good) and knows how to milk tension out of the concept. However, it has a fatal flaw – the script. Some of its details are difficult to believe and you know already from the start the twist that is coming. Also, it is hard to detect a human being behind Cassel’s larger-than-life villain.
