KATCH ‘EM, KILL ‘EM.

A family moves into a house where a young man went crazy and killed his family; it doesn’t take long for George Lutz (Ryan Reynolds) to start acting like Jack Nicholson in The Shining. This remake is scarier and better paced than the 1979 original, but Reynolds goes nuts much too fast and there’s nothing original about the ghosts, their history or the effects they employ to frighten the new family. The cast is alright; Rachel Nichols is fun as a hot and cocky babysitter who takes the history of the house too lightly.
