DEATH FREES EVERY SOUL.Ā
Director Darren Aronofsky’s movie is set in three different centuries and jumps back and forth between them, with Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz as incarnations of two basic characters, Tomas and Isabel. The myth of the tree of life is what holds them together; in the 16th century a conquistador is looking for it, in modern times a researcher finds its powers and some time in the future an astronaut is taking the tree far into space. Ambitious and spectacular at times, a little out there but not as moving as it should be.
