A fashion designer (Will Ferrell) plans to brainwash the dumbest male model around, which happens to be Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller), into assassinating a prime minister who’s threatening to close down the designer’s business. That’s the moronic storyline for this “frat pack” comedy, but funny it still is, thanks to enthusiastic performances and amusing broadsides at the fashion community’s most satire-worthy aspects (the ads, shallowness, outlandish outfits). Stiller is great fun as the aging model; his father Jerry plays his agent and just seeing him is enough to spark laughs.
