SOMETIMES JUSTICE IS A CRIME.Ā
Young clemency lawyer Rick Hayes (Rob Morrow) is assigned to the case of Cindy Liggett (Sharon Stone), a death-row convict whose execution date is drawing near. This movie suffered badly in comparison with the previous year’s Dead Man Walking; it is too predictable and in dire need of the intelligence and compassion of Tim Robbins’s drama. The search for a compelling reason not to put Cindy Liggett to death never becomes interesting enough… and neither does Cindy herself, even though Stone delivers a not-bad performance.
1996-U.S. 103 min. Color. Directed byĀ Bruce Beresford. Cast: Sharon Stone (Cindy Liggett), Rob Morrow (Rick Hayes), Randy Quaid (Sam Burns), Peter Gallagher, Jack Thompson, Jayne Brook.
