White Noise

THE DEAD ARE TRYING TO GET A HOLD OF YOU.Ā

Jonathan Rivers (Michael Keaton) is contacted by a man (Ian McNeice) obsessed with E.V.P. who tells him that his dead wife is trying to reach him. Hollywood finds a new subject for a horror flick, but can’t resist the temptation to go overboard. In this film the ghosts are capable of a lot more than simply whisper to the living through white noise… and your reaction is most likely disbelief. Silly stuff (with a ridiculous final “warning” from the filmmakers), but Keaton’s energy is welcome.

2005-Canada-Britain. 98 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed byĀ Geoffrey Sax. Cast: Michael Keaton (Jonathan Rivers), Deborah Kara Unger (Sarah Tate), Chandra West (Anna Rivers), Ian McNeice, Sarah Strange, Nicholas Elia.

Trivia: Followed by a direct-to-DVD sequel, White Noise 2: The Light (2008).
