It never made much noise, this pleasant look at a small Ohio town called Stuckeyville, but it did have clever ideas as well as very likeable characters and actors. The central story was the blossoming romance between Ed (Tom Cavanagh) and Carol (Julie Bowen). He was the New York attorney who moved to his hometown to set up a law practice in a bowling alley, she was the best-looking girl in school and had become a teacher. It took three years for them to finally make a commitment; the final season served no other purpose but to deliver a wedding in the series finale. Not rewarding enough, but the show did have many amusing supporting characters whose eccentric behavior made Stuckeyville a special place.
