Flightplan

IF SOMEONE TOOK EVERYTHING YOU LIVE FOR… HOW FAR WOULD YOU GO TO GET IT BACK?

Bereaved mom Kyle Pratt (Jodie Foster) takes her 6-year-old daughter on a flight from Berlin to New York; when the child suddenly disappears on the plane, her mother starts raising hell. This thriller basically borrows the plot from The Lady Vanishes (1938) and turns it into a pretty conventional experience. The director knows how to set everything up, but not for a second do we believe that the movieā€™s bad guy would be stupid enough to hatch a scheme this risky. Foster carries the movie a long way.

2005-U.S. 98 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed byĀ Robert Schwentke. Cast: Jodie Foster (Kyle Pratt), Peter Sarsgaard (Gene Carson), Erika Christensen (Fiona), Sean Bean, Kate Beahan, Marlene Lawston… Greta Scacchi.

Trivia: Fosterā€™s part was allegedly first written for Sean Penn.
