EVERY FAMILY HAS A FEW HANG-UPS.
A father (Walter Matthau) on the verge of dying ā that end of a chapter becomes an emotional time for his three daughters (Diane Keaton, Lisa Kudrow, Meg Ryan) who spend half their lives on the phone. Matthauās final film is a dog, but heās not to blame. The Ephron sisters used their own father as inspiration, but the results are messy and the phone calls become a nuisance. The three stars are louder than an action movie and the whole thing ends with a silly food fight. A shame.
