A sad man (Jim Caviezel) who calls himself Catch saves the life of Chicago cop Sharon Pogue (Jennifer Lopez); as they fall in love they realize that they have many issues to deal with. He’s trying to erase his entire identity and she has a terrible relationship with her parents. Caviezel and Lopez are both engaging as these fractured human beings; their romance is silly and predictable at times, but the filmmakers deliver a few dramatic scenes that tug at your heartstrings. Thankfully, they also know that not every problem needs to be neatly solved in the ending.
