SOME LOVERS NEVER KNOW WHEN TO STOP…
Director Roman Polanski once again employed his wife Emmanuelle Seigner and cast her as a waitress in Paris whom an American writer (Peter Coyote) has a kinky affair with, something that spells disaster for both; the story is subsequently retold to a shocked, prim couple. Time flies when you’re watching this film because it is unpredictable, well told and its sex is a fascinating exercise in tawdry taste. Plenty of humiliation, sadism and perverted games, but not much depth. Coyote is brilliant however as the self-absorbed, bitter man in the wheelchair.Â
