THE FASTEST HANDS IN THE EAST VERSUS THE BIGGEST MOUTH IN THE WEST.
L.A. cop James Carter (Chris Tucker) is assigned to babysit a colleague (Jackie Chan) from Hong Kong; he’s supposed to keep him off a kidnapping case, but that’s easier said than done. Take a little bit of Lethal Weapon (1987) and some from Beverly Hills Cop (1984) and youāve got this film; plenty of entertaining action and comedy that attracted a larger audience than old fans of Chan. It turns out that he works very well with Tucker who spends the movie trying to give his best Eddie Murphy performance (heās OK, but an acquired taste). The story, where no character should be trusted, is less impressive.
