FATE HAS FOUND ITS HERO.
The kind of Hollywood pic where āRussiansā speak American Englishā¦ which is perhaps preferable to fake accents. Director Kathryn Bigelow made a decent but overlong, unremarkable thriller set in 1961, just prior to the Cuban missile crisis. Based on a real incident, it shows how nasty a reactor crisis on a nuke sub can be. Harrison Ford probably saw his chance to do a more complex hero than usual as the earnest commander who at first gives his crew Queeg vibes, but turns out to be a man who just takes his job very seriously.
