Roswell

THE U.F.O. COVER-UP.

The alleged UFO crash landing at Roswell, New Mexico in 1947 is now one of those great American legends. This TV movie introduces us to the Army officer Jesse Marcel (Kyle MacLachlan), the first man to visit the crash site, who was forced to keep quiet about what he saw. The filmmakers jump back and forth between the 1940s and 1990s and tells an incredible story. Itā€™s not uninteresting; the production values are OK, and so is the acting. But the whole thing feels like an appetizer that never leads to a truly satisfying meal.

1994-U.S. Made for TV. 91 min. Color. Directed byĀ Jeremy Kagan. Book: Kevin D. Randle, Donald R. Schmitt (ā€UFO Crash at Roswellā€). Cast: Kyle MacLachlan (Jesse Marcel), Martin Sheen (Townsend), Dwight Yoakam (Mac Brazel), Kim Greist, Peter MacNicol, Bob Gunton.
