This entry among director Robert Youngson’s comedy compilations might very well disappoint viewers; quality-wise, the amazing well of the golden age of Hollywood was beginning to run dry for Youngson at the time. What’s impressive though is the awesome amount of movie clips display. Results are uneven but scenes you shouldn’t miss include Buster Keaton and a flight of stairs, Lou Costello in a washer, Laurel and Hardy’s encounter with Lupe Velez, the Marx Brothers feeding an entire train to its boiler, Garbo laughing in Ninotchka… Many old stars from the ‘20s, ‘30s and ‘40s make appearances, not all of them comedians, but it’s fun to see them. The finale is weak, though.
