Adventurer Xander Cage (Vin Diesel) is hired by the NSA to infiltrate a Czech group of criminals looking to turn the entire world into the perfect anarchy. The new breed of secret agent may look modern in Diesel’s guise, but is sorely missing panache. The blend of adventure, humor and exotic locales that is the trademark of the Bond movies is mimicked by the guys behind The Fast and the Furious (2001) – they don’t know how to do it in an elegant way. The filmmakers deliver a story even emptier than most Bond scripts and Samuel L. Jackson is wasted as another M figure.
