HE WILL ROCK YOU.

Sometime in the 14th century, a squire (Heath Ledger) assumes a knight’s title and jousts his way into a girl’s heart while also challenging a competitor (Rufus Sewell). A movie with intentional anachronisms; apparently, people used to dance to Bowie’s “Golden Years” in the Middle Ages. That silliness works to some charming effect and some of the acting efforts pay off, including Ledger’s performance. But, sadly, you always know where this overlong flick is heading and writer-director Brian Helgeland’s attempts to please the crowds are too obvious.
